	Ring Around The Roses Black Death, outbreak of bubonic plague that struck Europe and the Mediterranean area from 1347 through 1351. It was the first of a cycle of European plague epidemics that continued until the early 18th century. The last major outbreak of plague in Europe was in Marseilles in 1722. These plagues had been preceded by a cycle of ancient plagues between the 6th and 8th centuries AD; they were followed by another cycle of modern, but less deadly, plagues that began in the late 19th century and continue in the 20th century. The term “Black Death” was not used to refer to the plagues of 1347 through 1351 until much later; contemporaries usually referred to it as the Pestilence, or the Great Mortality. The Black Death and the other epidemics of bubonic plague had many consequences. One was a series of vicious attacks on Jews who were accused of deliberately poisoning the water or the air. The attacks began in the south of France, but were most dramatic in parts of Switzerland and Germany—areas with a long history of attacks on local Jewish communities. Massacres in Bern were typical of this pattern: After weeks of fearful tension, Jews were rounded up and burned or drowned in marshes. Sometimes there were attacks on Jews even where there was no plague. The Pope, the leader of the Catholic church, and most public officials condemned the massacres and tried to stop them. In the face of mob fury, however, they were often unsuccessful. Persecutions only ended when the deaths from the plague began to decline. There were occasional local persecutions during later plagues, but never with the violence of those that occurred from 1348 through 1351. The Jews being the people of Yahveh keeping His Covenant. Jews lived a Kosher life that is they abstained from some types of animals and other things that Yahveh said was unclean. Jews were not effected by the plague, Hmm wonder why? This gave even a more reason why to persecute His children. What an excuse to cover up there nasty sinful lifestyle! Being Kosher is not a grieves thing. Yahveh's Torah is an instruction manual to see that we are taken care of just like we instruct our children so that they may live. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Tisha! We all fall down. May Yahveh null all when read. armen Occasionally children join hands in a circle, and sing this song of posies. The origin of this rose-colored ditty is something far more sinister - the Bubonic Plague (a/k/a "Black Death") that swept through Europe in the 1600s. A rosy, circular rash is the first symptom of the plague. (bleeding into skin and other organs) The posies are herbs and spices carried to sweeten the air. (the smell of death and rotting flesh was overwhelming. Some even thought that the posies had a magical affect to ward off the Plague.) The "Tisha" (Later versions replace with "ashes" ) (here we have two histories both having the same ending. One is Tisha believed to be speaking of the tissue used for covering the mouth and Ashes breaking down of the body along with bleeding into the skin would cause sever coughing up of dry blood that would look like black ashes.) When children fall down on the last line of this rhyme, they are unknowingly acting out this disease. The Black Death (fall as dead) We need to see that not all things are fun and games.
